About Rev. Dr. Alex Tracy
Struggling to balance the demands of ministry and effectively sharing your congregation's story online?
Been there. Done that. Got the t-shirt.
Before I became a specialist in branding and digital-first marketing, I was a pastor. I served United Methodist congregations across South Georgia and in Maryland. I get it. Ministry is hard enough. You don’t have time or bandwidth to handle the regular daily tasks of preaching & worship, administration, and congregational care plus learning the nuances of social media algorithms or building your congregation’s website. How do I know? Because I had to rebuild the website for one congregation I served on Palm Sunday weekend after our template crashed. On a Saturday. While I was trying to polish my sermon. It wasn’t fun.
I don’t just know the technical side of marketing. I’m a preacher at heart. I know how to communicate in ways that are inspirational and invitational, that combine language and imagery to cast a hopeful vision of the future because of what God has done for us in Jesus Christ.
My bona fides:
14 years of ministry experience as an associate pastor, interim pastor, and lead pastor in urban and rural settings
MDiv from Candler School of Theology, Emory University
PhD in homiletics and liturgics from Vanderbilt University
Multiple websites built for congregations (in some cases, their first website)
Oversaw or personally implemented visual branding and communications best practices
The Services Churches Need Most
-
Branding
Clarify your particular mission and identity, then share your story and ethos through color, typography, tone, and voice.
-
Website Design & Development
Establish your online presence with a beautiful, functional website that helps guide members and visitors to take their next steps as they go deeper into the life of faith.
-
Social Media Management & Marketing
Strengthen (and expand!) your community social media platforms. Establish groups, share photos of your congregation’s life, and promote your special services & events with boosted posts.
-
Email Newsletters
Keep your congregation informed and connected through pastoral reflections, ministry announcements, and sharing photos. Then given them easy-to-click calls to volunteer, give, or register for a study.
-
SEO & Content
Once you have the fundamentals, take the next step by improving your standing in search engine results. When people look for “a church near me,” will they find you? Boost that visibility and share helpful content at the same time.
