I partner with creators, consultants, and mission-driven organizations to build brands that are as meaningful as they are effective. My path to this work wasn't traditional, but it taught me that the foundation of all good marketing isn't a particular tactic—it's trust.
From the Pulpit to the Practice
My PhD taught me communication theory, but my fourteen years as a pastor taught me its practice in the most demanding of environments. Ministry, at its core, is the work of connection. It’s about weaving together a community, articulating a vision that resonates, and inspiring people to act on shared values—often with the kind of budget that requires, let's say, divine intervention.
I didn’t set out to become a marketer. I set out to build a thriving, inclusive community where every voice could be heard. But in the 21st century, that work couldn't be confined to the walls of a building. Driven by necessity, I dove headfirst into the digital world. I learned to build websites because we needed a welcoming front door online. I managed rebranding efforts because our visual identity had to reflect the vibrant, modern community we were becoming. I decoded the algorithms of social media to connect with people where they actually were, Monday through Saturday.
And I wrote. I wrote the stories that brought our mission to life. Every week, for fourteen years, I crafted a keynote address—a sermon, in the Methodist tradition—designed to find the universal truth in an ancient story and make it relevant, actionable, and real.
It was a slow, profound education in what truly works. I learned that flashy tactics fade, but authentic storytelling endures. I learned that trust is the only non-negotiable metric. And I saw firsthand how a clear, principled message could cultivate a resilient community. That entire experience forged a set of non-negotiable principles that guide every project we undertake today.

On a Personal Note...
When I'm not decoding brand narratives, you can find me solving the daily New York Times crossword. My thinking is usually soundtracked by Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, and if there’s any time left over, I’m probably playing tabletop games with family or friends.
